Don't talk unless you actually have something worthwhile to say. It seems too many people these days talk just to make noise.

A few tips:

You can touch them on the arm between the shoulder and elbow and draw them back in.
Make sure you're telling shorter more concise stories that have a point, and a defined ending.
Make sure you're using your body language to help tell the story. More specifically your hands.

Calling them out doesn't really help because it's you're fault they're not interested not theirs. Which means you probably need to get better at storytelling, and tighten up your routines.

I have the same problem. I find that I immediately stop talking when someone else says something, I figure they wouldn't interrupt me unless it was worth it, people take advantage of this once they realize they can. I have to actively force myself to keep talking when someone else starts and stare them down Alpha status. I don't enjoy doing this but I find that you only need to do it in the beginning a few times to put impolite people in their place. Always be aware of when the people around you start to lose interest in what you are saying, or you become an asshole.

You don't have social value in the moment. Common causes are that you're approval/validation seeking or you give too much of a fuck.

Friend has the same problem. He has a loud, booming voice. But his conversation comes through his ego. When someone makes a joke, he rides the bandwagon rather than adding something that's authentic.

If I call them out on it, I'll be disregarded.

That sounds needy.

If I'm talking to a girl and she starts texting, or if there's another guy and I'm talking to him and the girl tunes out, I straight up stick my hand in front of her face and snap my fingers. If she's texting I'll say, "Hey. I'm up here" and smile. If I'm talking to the guy and she zones out I say "Earth to [girl's name]." The most important thing is to smile so she doesn't think you're being a straight up asshole because you're actually mad at her.

Its kind of hard to explain, but its very me, so it comes natural. I've been doing this since before I knew what gaming was. Done it countless times. She actually has to be in a very bad mood for it to not work.

If she actually is in a bad mood (say she got bad news in a text or something), genuinely look at her and ask her what's wrong.

Well you don't have to be speaking all the time since a good convo is 50% listening/ 50% speaking.
