Part is knowing what you want. I assume you want casual fun only (not a long-term relationship) based on what you write. This is a great starting point.

If you try to trick people to sleep with you when they aren't into the casual sex thing - it will typically make you feel empty inside.

If you meet a woman that is down with casual sex, and wants the same thing - it will typically be a lot more rewarding.

That said: You need to also understand why you want casual sex. If you're feeling depressed and you want to use casual sex as a band-aid solution for your inner wounds - that may not work very well. You might find that the sex did nothing for you. It may feel disapointing.

There are good cures for depression, but casual sex ain't it.

I find casual sex extremely fun and rewarding - and I meet many amazing people that way. But my goal is the excitement / enjoyment of getting to know someone new and the sex part itself is very rewarding and enjoyable in most cases.

I don't have a deeper psychological issue that I'm using casual sex to "fill".

That said, of course not every interaction will be positive. That's just part of dating. But most are very positive, at least to me. Also if I don't get sex. Just talking to a new person is fun for me.

You mentioned "the man gets lonelier" if he doesn't get sex. And that points to being lonely that is a deeper issue. Casual sex will typically not cure that. Deep connection with other people- like a long-term relationship or a deep friendship, will cure it a lot better.

I easily get lonely, but I don't use casual sex to cure loneliness. I use my deeper relationships for that.

If I don't get sex - this does not make me feel that bad or lonely. It just makes me think what I can learn and maybe it was not a good match for sex in the first place. Then I get back out there and go on another date. And usually the next date is much better than the disapointing date.

My girlfriend and I started out as FWBs. We both agreed on casual at first, but we also connected so well emotionally, and that escalated. We got together after 2 months.

You date properly by treating the woman as an actual person and friend. That means you actually enjoy spending time with them outside of the bedroom, and you connect with her on both mental and emotional level. It also doesn't really matter what the person's preference is. They can want short term only, but if they ever meet someone whom they feel like they can connect deeply with, they'll change their minds pretty quickly.

You already identified the core issue: people feel disposable when the energy is desperate or transactional. A good first date goal is simple: leave the person feeling respected, seen, and not pressured. If both want casual, great. If not, still end it cleanly and kindly. Casual dating cannot carry your whole emotional life. Build connection outside dating so each date is curiosity, not emotional survival. Don't bother.

If you arent getting dates consistently within the first month of signing on to an app, you generally wont get more than one or two dates a year.
