So I (20M) have developed a friendship with a 13M friend of mine and I'm sort of a mix of a friend and an uncle like figure to him. We happen to talk a lot about girls, he's growing up in a similar situation that I did (religious, strict mother figure and a fear of girls and slowly working his way out of it)

Anyway, I'll keep it short - he has really, really bad oneitis with this one 14F. And he doesn't talk to anyone else because they're not as cute or funny. We both live in a small town (a couple hundred people) and there aren't many options. So it's not like he can just choose someone else. Forget double-texting, he'll straight up quadruple-text her but is also too afraid to ask her out in real life. His strict mother figure does not help things. The girl also tried to hold his hand (although I think she was playing with him and might not really like him) and he was too afraid to do it back.

How do I explain oneitis and the fundamentals of talking to women to his young mind? I've tried explaining it the way I've learned from r/seduction at 19-20 years old, but it's not getting through to him. He doesn't talk to other girls on snapchat or in real life even though I've showed him how to do it. Only the girls I specifically try to set him up with will he talk to at all, and still fail pretty bad. He sees every girl he talks to as a potential LTR instead of just having fun. He keeps asking me to help him find a girl.

tl;dr 13M friend has oneitis with a 14F friend how do I get him to stop obsessing and keep his options open at that age, and get him to learn the basics of game in general as a boy going through puberty and not an adult, or even a highschooler yet.
