I hate the term 'beta' but it's the best word for this situation.

I have been spending a lot of time with a few female coworkers recently. I don't know if they're attracted to me, but I suspect there's something there. Because we work together I don't want to start anything that could make work uncomfortable.

The problem is, I want to maintain a strong, confident frame, but the way I've been acting around them is closer to a guy who is afraid to make a move. For example, last night we went dancing at a club. We got pretty close. With a girl I was interested in I would have gone for the kiss, but with this girl I didn't.

Basically, I don't want these girls to see me like I was a few years ago: The beta friend who had a chance but was too much of a pussy to make a move. But I feel like I'm stuck between that or potentially making things awkward at work, which I don't want either. I think it would be weird to come out and tell them that I only want to be friends unless they make a move on me first. How can I friendzone them while still acting like a man?
