How do you show your intentions more clearly?

I don't get AA and I'm pretty comfortable with kino

I have trouble making my intentions clear with, say, an old high school friend that I want to connect with again. If I ask them to hang out sometimes they assume that it's just friend stuff.

That's because you're going to have a harder time with people you've been friend-zoned with. As a general rule, it's a better use of energy to focus on girls with whom you haven't fallen into the friend zone with.

Yeah, basically, how do I make my intentions clear with people that I don't approach?

You don't have an option in this scenario. If you don't approach, I'm assuming that no interaction is taking place. If you're interacting with them, then it's easy: it's kino.

Also, I've become this person that runs a lot of baseline kino around all my girl friends -- I've kind of confused myself when it comes to distinguishing how to "behave" around some one of interest and just a friend (I've kind of blurred the two).

You shouldn't be running baseline kino with friends. You'll confuse them so that they spread the word that you can't be taken seriously.

Also:

Don't tell them about your desire: show it.
Day game vs night game is a matter of taste.
Simply waiting will not get you out of the friend zone. That is some seriously advanced stuff there.

It's tough. I assume you mean people you aren't already friend-zoned with. But who are close enough to friends that it will be awkward.

The thing is, just go for it the same way you would with any other girl. I mean, you're not doing anything wrong. You might fail, and your friends will hear about it. The women who hear about it will give you points for having balls.

Really nothing bad happens. You are worried you'll be ostracized, but barring some really unusually circumstances you get LJBFed at worst, then you just be friends.

1: tell them, you have nothing to lose.

2: night is more effective for this sort if thing as opposed to grabbing a coffee because of social lubricants such as alcohol. If you want to get past that friend barrier then I'd recommend going to a club or bar, it's more of an intimate vibe.

Wait for her to realise you are the nice friend she's been waiting for. Successfully escape the friendzone like no man has done before.
