After I made a post on seddit that "getting better at socializing" was my priority, I was called out for not even having it on my calendar. If it's really my priority, then it better be on my calendar.
I've had it on my calendar to go out every weekend, but I've skimped out on it the past 3 weeks. For one, it was because my friends came over and we hung out. But going out on my own and just talking to random women proved to be more "scary" than I thought. It sounds stupid now that I'm typing it out here, but that's exactly how I felt.
Just going out today was a struggle for me. I worried about how I looked, how weird it is when a lanky, ill-fashioned, glasses-wearing engineer talks to some random girl tonight.
I realized that all the confidence I built up before is not there, even if I know deep down that it's there. I feel like I'm not giving myself the right positive reinforcement in my head, and I know that's all it is. I feel myself going down that downward spiral, and the poisonous mindset that "I need money" then I can go out.
So how do I start? Do I really need money to start attracting girls? This is bullshit and I know it in the back of my mind, and yet, this is what my mind is defaulting to.
How did you guys just start going out and feeling comfortable with girls... actually with people in general?
