How far ahead to schedule a date?

You might think this is unnecessary for me to say, but I think this is going to help you drastically.

Every time you think, "Is this too soon? What if she says no? Am I being too pushy?" This isn't a healthy mindset to have. You may already know this. What I'm going to tell you is, there is absolutely no need to worry about this.

I think you should first tell yourself that this isn't that important. What you say and do with this girl is not life and death. You'll have to be okay with the fact that she might reject you and that you'll have to move on. Once you get comfortable with this idea, this whole process is going to be a lot easier.

Here's what I would do. Text her whenever you feel comfortable and just plan a date when you are free and want to hang out. There is no need to figure out when you should text her, what day is a good day, and where you need to go. This is not helping your anxiety. Now, I will say that you'll have to plan a day and a time, but tell her when you want to see her first. If she's not available that day, then I would just let it be and say something like, "I'd really like to see you! When are you free?" If she doesn't answer to that, then I don't see any reason to move forward.

Rejection is a good thing. It'll screen out the people (and women) you want to have in your life. So the most important thing you can do is express what you want honestly and see how she is affected by it. That means, tell her when and where you want to see her and if she doesn't want to do that, then there's no satisfying feeling of trying to make that work. It'll just go downhill.

TL;DR Be okay with the fact that she might reject you and you will live on. Text her when you want to. Tell her when and where you would like to go. If she doesn't accept, you're better off without her.

I'd be receptive to a message the next day planning an outing in 2-3 days time. Particularly if I'm new in town and need someone to show me around. Do whatever you're comfortable with, if she says no, gold stars to you for at least getting her number, she might even propose a different time that suits her better but if not there will be other girls on the train with more numbers.
