I'm twenty now, and I'm not really able to afford my own place. I'm trying to put myself through college and I commute, so how important or how lame is it to live at home at this age? How difficult would it be to go to the girls place more often than not?

I've only had one girlfriend who I dated for a few years my senior year of high school and first two years of college so it wasn't a big deal then because we were in high school when our relationship began. But..well she left me in order to date an older guy with his own place and stated quite loudly that him having his own place was a huge attraction. So...is it hopeless? I understand confidence is key and have no issue getting numbers or securing dates but I kind of limit myself because I am uncomfortable bring girls back to my place as my parents are awkward as hell.

EDIT: I'm able to afford my own place however it wouldn't be comfortable.

ImKumarYo raises a valid point, I should be asking how to frame this. So, what are some ways to frame it?

My thoughts are I could just state to the potential dates I'd rather go to their place and not really give any reason unless pressed?
