I am British, she is Latin. We speak different languages, but there isn't really a language barrier. She isn't fluent, but we can talk about anything. We have a similar sense of humour and perspective, so there is a connection there, but..

The problem is, though we have common interests (cooking, travelling), I still feel somewhat unsatisfied when it comes to more intellectual topics.

I am fascinated about psychology and the mind, meditation, spiritual development, sociology, biology, philosophy. Yet me and my GF rarely have conversations about any of this. I am exploring this kind of stuff with my family (brothers and dad), and we have some very good discussions.

Is it realistic to expect this from my partner? I feel like I won't be fulfilled in a relationship with someone who doesn't share that kind of intellectual curiosity.

Am I asking too much? She is great and we have a great relationship, but this still nags at me. Would appreciate some thoughts from the more experienced folk. This is only my second relationship (longest, too - and I'm only 7 months in).
