In your experience when flirting with someone you see regularly, how long is too long to make a move (ask for number, date) romantically before you become more like friends than romantic interests?

I understand it’s best to make the move as soon as you can, but what if didn’t want to as you had other interests (close with another girl) and didn’t want to make a move yet
