If you made the plan up to go on a dinner date, you will for sure pay. But the less money the dinner costs and the less fancy the place is will take less money out of your pocket and will put less pressure on the girls shoulder. So easy said, less is more.

I'm not inviting them to dinner. Why should I? To further support a ridiculous sense of entitlement?

Shortly before Corona there was a woman from Russia here for a few days, whom I had met on a trip abroad (she didn't come for me, but wanted to see the capital of my country, so I went there with her to show her around - which I really like to do anyway), 30+ years, manager, very pretty. Of course I split the costs fairly (for the food, public transport, Airbnb rent, etc.)- she was completely shocked and said that this had never happened to her before. She said in surprise: "But men are providers!" All I thought was: "You're a grown woman with a good salary, why do you need a provider? Besides, I'm certainly not your provider."

She then wanted us to recalculate our expenses. It turned out that she owed me even more than I calculated, because I had generously calculated to her advantage. Then she was really pissed off, but she paid me everything, so that in the end the common costs were paid by 50% each and the individual costs were paid by each of us individually - like it should be. But the next day she was in a much better mood again and we had a good chat and had a nice day, after which she flew back to Russia. We are still in contact from time to time.

When she was here we fooled around a bit, hugged, flirted, etc. but we didn't have sex...

Friends said that if I had paid for everything, we would have had sex for sure. But I think the argumentation is absurd. Do I want a woman who goes to bed with me only if I cover her expenses? No, I certainly don't. Who does: Where is your dignity?

Depends on the relationship, in mine we try to keep the spedings equal. So for instance if i payed lunch in the morning, the next time she might be paying the dinner. However, sometimes i think its important to pay more over the time.

Glad to see the comments here, because it has been so long since I bought a woman dinner I was actually curious to see what a normal amount would be. Eating out has gotten expensive, and I don't even go to fancy places.

I would say it depends. Is this someone you don’t know and you’re meeting for the first time? If yes, then keep it casual like going for drinks or getting coffee. If it’s someone you already know/ have a relationship with (ex. Friend or coworker), a causal dinner would be good. It also depends on what you’re looking for - do you want a relationship, or do you just want to bang

You should show her that your don't care about money and it does not matter who pays!

Personally if I invite girl and if I choose the restaurant then it's expected that I'll pay.

I invite girls the the places which I know, where I feel comfortable or where I know the owner or barman or other personal.

Saying other words I can spend from 0 to the sum for most expensive restaurant in the city. It depends of the mood.
