just say something simple like "Dammmmm!" That may encourage her to send more, so go along with it and make little jokes like "thats a lucky rubber duck behind you" or "wished I was that bar of soap". Gotta be quick on your toes, she's taking a HUGE risk so you have to reassure her she didn't make a mistake and embarass the crap out of herself sending you an intimate photo.

Any advice on how to recover from this the next time I see her?

From a game perspective not responding was a positive, nothing to recover from.

Tease her about being a temptress, and tell her you're a good boy she's slowly corrupting.
