I have ADHD and I’ve started realizing that the way I text people often doesn’t match how I actually am in person. When I’m face to face I’m enthusiastic, expressive, funny, and the energy flows naturally, but over text my wording comes out awkward, rushed, or confusing. Sometimes I respond too fast, or I phrase things in a way that sounds weird, blunt, or overly casual. Other times I think I’m being playful and it reads as unclear. This happens both in normal conversations and when I’m asking someone to hang out in person it goes great, but over text I feel like I lose momentum or accidentally kill the vibe. For anyone with ADHD, how do you translate your real personality into messages without overthinking or messing up the tone? Any strategies for slowing down, phrasing things better, or making texting feel more natural?
