How to escalate conversation?

Banter. Always banter. Tease them. Bust their chops. Joke around like they're your buddies.

Example:

You: "Sup?"

Her: "Not much. Just watching TV."

You: "It's Jersey Shore, isn't it?"

Her: "Haha, how'd you know?"

You: "I too have a weakness for shitty television."

Her: "It's my guilty pleasure!"

You: "Friends don't let friends watch bad TV alone."

Her: "Haha, you want to watch it with me?"

You: "I'd have to be a cruel son of a bitch to make you suffer through that by yourself. I'll be over in ten."

Because she has had dozens of lame guys try to talk to her about fucking TV shows. Its BORING.

Don't throw out a boring topic and expect her to be interested!!!

You get bored, she gets bored, everyone loses!

You don't "go from" casual talk, you just change. You ask an interesting question.

You don't need to transition, just ask her whatever is on your mind!

Don't ever start a convo with a girl by saying how's it going, add some flavor. Here is a sample conversation:

Me: friday night is the night to get your party on, what're you up to

her: oh just watching tv

me: what a way to spend the night haha

her: i've had much more boring nights than that

me: the most boring night would be me staying in and touching myself, mostly due to the fact that i'd be so fucking lonely rofl

her: hahahahhah

me: let's not let that happen now and go out

Sample conversation I bullshitted in 2 seconds. Basically keep text vibing to a minimum and then real conversation vibing amp it up.

That's easy,

"How do you like <show>?"

"I heard that <show> is funny/good/interesting, what do you like about it?"

"That's show is my favorite"

"I watched that once, it was boring. I didn't like blah blah blah"

"I heard that show is similar to <show> which I really like, have you watched that?"

"My friend likes that <show> I don't see why."

Idk my examples probably wasn't much better but there are so many ways you can just respond to that. I usually try to make fun of them for following the crowd if it's a popular show or make fun of them for liking a weird show. These are very simple responses that you will slowly understand it's part of in person conversations where you'll have to respond rather quickly.

You gotta remember it's up to you to make it interesting, if you tried to make it interesting already and the girl still is boring then it's her not you.

I disagree with all the responses here. Basically, most guys let her steer the conversation. She is watching TV? I don't give a fuck. It's not interesting to me. This is what I would say:

Me: Hows it going?

Her: Nothing much just watching t.v

Me: Guess what I'm doing

Her: What?

Me: (something awesome that you're doing)

Pretending that you care what she's watching is automatically putting her on a pedestal. She knows there's nothing interesting about her watching TV so you pretending there is decreases your value. I only act interested in what a girl is saying if what she is saying is actually interesting. Let's say the conversation had gone like this:

Me: Hows it going?

Her: Nothing much writing a paper

Me: About what

Her: blah blah blah

Me: I have very strong opinions about blah blah blah (only say this if you actually do. Etc...

Like puacurveball said, its your repsonsibility to make the conversation interesting. especially if you initiate. You can't just go up to somebody and start a convo and then get mad that they're not making it awesome.
