There are lots of great tips here on responding to a woman's direct statement/objection that she has a boyfriend (see the shit-test posts in the side bar).

But how do you handle a woman's passing or indirect reference to a boyfriend?

A direct statement gives you a chance to reframe or respond in a funny way, but a passing reference is so much trickier. For example, a good response depends more on the actual context of her passing reference to her BF, etc. It also makes it more tempting to just let it pass and either ignore it or bail altogether.

I recently had a good initial meeting and #close. But in a later text, when I proposed a get-together on certain date, she mentioned going out-of-town with her BF, but left open the possibility of a later get-together.

The beta option would seem to be to ignore the reference (and either try to go ahead with the date or cut losses and move on to someone else). The alpha option would seem to be to call out and respond to her BF reference in some clever and disarming way.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
