One thing that’s has really helped me solve this problem is just always trying to be genuine. If you don’t like something, say you don’t like it. If you like something, say you like it. And say it in a way that isn’t looking for a reaction. It will all balance out, so don’t worry about being too positive or too negative, just speak your thoughts. But as a former nice guy I constantly have to remind myself this.

In my opinion setting boundaries is important. Learn to say no. If someone is upsetting you, tell them in a calm and nice way. Stand up for yourself. Be the real you without trying to impress or please other people.

I know, easier said than done.

Here are some resources, that you may find helpful. I read the book "No More Mr. Nice Guy" a few years ago (I forgot the author's name). This can be a good start. One book that is highly recommended by many people is Mark Manson's "The subtle art of not giving a fuck". He also wrote a seduction-themed book called "Models". It's about attracting women by being your authentic self.

You can also look up a video on YouTube by "Charisma on Command". The title is something like: "Command respect without being a jerk".

Read the recommended book it explains everything.

The essence of the book is, you don't stop being a nice guy. You stop being a dishonest, fake nice guy which is the real problem with most superficially nice, beta-male providers.
