How to overcome approach anxiety?

Hate to say this, but the solution is to approach. There isn’t much time for you to sit and think about approaching that cute girl that you have within your sights. When you see her, approach, because if you don’t, your mind will conjure up reasons why you shouldn’t. If you don’t know what to say, just walk up and say hi, shake her hand, and say nice to meet you. Comment on on something she is wearing, how nice she looks and maybe even tell her you would’ve regretted not introducing yourself to her for the next 10 minutes lol. Good luck!

Approach anxiety comes from a fear of the outcome. Realise the close isn't the goal. The approach is the goal. There are a dozen things that will affect the close, but only one that will affect the approach, and that's you. Make the approach and don't worry about the outcome.

I had this same problem you are having like literally last week but the only solution to it is just to man the fuck up and go for it. I just said “fuck it, got nothing to lose” and it actually went pretty well lol. I didn’t even ask her name and still got her number. We tend to overthink a lot and i feel like thats what stops us from doing what we desire cause we keep thinking of failure etc. Honestly just go for it cause even if she does decline you, you could always just ask another ask girl out. If you look decent and are confident l, I’m sure she won’t decline so just do it so you won’t regret it later.

I think a big part of approach anxiety, is simply not knowing what to say and how to carry an interaction with a stranger who will likely not make it 'easy' for you

The best advice I have heard is to literally say anything that comes to mind without giving a damn about being judged. I usually have million thoughts, but feel like they are too unimportant or stupid to verbalize. Once you stop caring whether other people will judge you, you can just start talking about almost anything that comes to mind.

Think about it, you don't know anything about the person you're approaching. So within a few moment of meaningless smalltalk you will either realize that you don't really click and move on, or continue on to deeper conversation.

Good wingmen that can exert social pressure on you to perform. Athletes do better with coaches. Bodybuilders do better with spotters. You'll do better with people that can help push you towards your goal.
Outcome independence. Just go and get rejected. Expect the rejection and take it and be thankful for it. Thank the girl for rejecting you. You're going to be getting rejected a lot. You need to be comfortable with it. You need to be comfortable with failure. There's a very good chance that girl you're eyeing is going to reject you. Accept this potential consequence and go for it anyways.
