Push/pull, or at least the ratio of compliments to teases would play a role. For example, if you ONLY give compliments, that is still bad even if you compliment sparingly, and it would be better to mix in teases here and there. On your second question about how the bad boy/player/fuck boy talks to women, they pretty much found the system that works for them so its going to vary, but the common denominator is they don't give a fuck and say what they want. Like the main difference is that a lot of guys try to calculate what they say to women, whether to "earn points" or even are so in their own head to make sure their ratio of compliments to teases is at a certain ratio. Another factor is these guys are often more direct and honest, mostly because they truly have an abundance mentality and have outcome independence since if a girl isn't receptive, they know they have other options. So they really aren't concerned about simping mostly because they aren't simps

But back on the original thing about complimenting without sounding like a simp, it really just comes down to behavior outside of the compliments. Like if you don't have a simp attitude, then you really shouldn't have much worries about compliments coming off as nongenuine

Only compliment a woman based on something she had to personally put effort into to make happen. For example, her clothes, she put effort in selecting what to wear. Perhaps her eyeshadow color in how it looks good with her eyes, she put effort in selecting the color.

If she says something really relevant and intelligent to a conversation topic, tell her that is a really good point, or say she seems to have a real grasp of the subject. Don't say she is smart, she already knows this, and so do you.

I’ll say something like “you look lowkey adorable” almost like I’m telling them that I think they are cute, but for most people their cuteness is flying under the radar.

I think it's a congruency thing (maybe inner game or outer game problem). I've never had a problem with giving women very direct compliments. Stick to methods that work easily for you.

The way I compliment my girlfriend is I get her into something we enjoy together and then compliment her about little things and it always gets a smile out of her. Also, if she's really hyper or mad, I say her name a few times until she stops and finally decides to acknowledge me and I say I love you or something sweet like "my little princess is so cute when she's mad" ect

For the rapport phase: COMPLIMENT AS A REWARD.
