So ever since I got into the habit of approaching and talking to girls (which has not been for that long) I have been able to get a ton of numbers but never any dates. I don't know what I could be doing wrong, because the girls who give me their numbers really seem to like me, but once I begin texting them they just seem to lose interest.

To give an example when I text a girl, I introduce myself with something that we both kind of made a connection with or we initially talked about. I then try to make up some random questions to try to keep the texting going a little bit longer, (unlike how I used to do it where I just directly tried to set up a date because that didn't seem to be working and in hindsight was pretty stupid of me) and once I feel like the conversation is dying I either stop texting or say that I have to go. After our first texting session I wait at least a day or so to text. When I text on the second texting session I try to set something up, within some light conversation, but they they usually ignore me or don't even text back.

So I don't know what it could be, is it the way I text or how I approach them before I get the number? Any advice on this would be appreciated.
