I'm sorry dude, I have never been good at that.

Even if you didn't get any kind of closure out of it, you're still already ahead of 90% of men out there. Keep at it.

you could have told her that you wanted to be friends and she could introduce you to her friends.

Yo yo! You = awesome
I gotta ask, did you drink?
Since you were at a bar, I can only assume yes..
Since you're just building your foundation right now. I HIGHLY suggest that you try to stay sober when first approaching because this is just a bad habit that you'll have to get over later. If you approach sober, you can approach buzzed, but not always the other way around.
Anyways, nice job dude. Nice job

I drank a little bit, wasn't drunk but was definitely buzzed.

I said he was a lucky guy and left.
If you want, you don't have to be so anti-flirt after hearing that type of news. Relationships end all the time, so playing your cool after an alleged boyfriend enters the conversation can help you secure a future relationship with her.
You could tell give her your number and tell her to call you if things ever go south or tell her you don't mind if she has a boyfriend or tell her it's not like you were asking him for his number and you have no idea why it's even relevant to bring him up. You can do whatever you want.

Yeah got to agree with this, however I don't think this individual was even thinking about this. It looks like he was just getting over Approach Anxiety and was so happy to have done it he didn't care the outcome.
Now his next level thinking should hopefully come into play and when you get turned down he can still continue to flirt, ask her if she has any cute friends, and really push the limits and learn that you can still be social with people even if they have no interest in romance with you at that time.

Or just give her number and be friends. Anyway gratz OP. You did it.
Yea I hope thinking like that will eventually come for me. I have been trying to mostly overcome the feel of rejection.
[–]bones_and_love 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You need to focus on those feelings not even existing. It's not a switch you can flip, but you need to verbalize to yourself that they don't need to be there, serve no purpose, and are irrational.
Remember that women have the right to reject you. Not only that, most women will naturally reject you. It's nothing personal, it's just business. Each person has their own arbitrary things that turn them on (arbitrary within reason). Of course, work on eliminating the big ones that most people arbitrarily choose as their taste -- hygiene, health, and being active in your hobbies are some examples.

Great stuff man. Keep going!
[–]Jondalar 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That is a common thing for women to say that don't want to be pursued, she may have been just accompanying her friend. Also I understand the need to go out to seduce the opposite sex, but when I go out I don't go for the close. I go to find new friends that way I don't seem so forward, because some people don't go for the close. Which in the end may get more closes later if there a regular.

Yea even if she did mean it to blow me off, I still accomplished something in my opinion. I don't think she did mean it that way but who knows haha
