Hi,

So... I'm just going put this out there. I desperately need help. So I apologize if this sounds like a rant, because it kind of is, but also because I'm trying to do what works for people and it just does not work out.

I've read this subreddit, watched videos, tried to use the information I've gotten and nope.

Like, I'm really struggling to make things work. Various threads and videos mention eye contact can lead to a good approach, but literally I get eye contact from no one, it's like people go out of their way to avoid me, like I'm homeless.

Then I see advice on just something simple like approaching and saying "Hi, how are you?" might work. That just leads to women saying Hi back and then keep walking, possibly even faster away. Or a couple of times, it was just "fuck off".

In videos, I see people approaching single girls just standing/sitting around. Yet every time I go out, all the women are either with some guy, or like a gaggle of women with shields up.

I've had a friend's girlfriend help me pick out clothing and outfits, and I believe that has helped me since I've gotten more complements lately from coworkers or people I know. So I don't think it's appearances.

I don't think I'm a bad looking dude, I work out 4x a week, and not fat. I'm 33, but everyone tells me I look much younger, this is probably because I'm Asian and kind of baby-faced. But is that the problem? That I'm Asian? Do I live in a racist city? I live in Austin, which is fairly liberal, so I thought people would be more open to other races/cultures.

My coworkers and friends all tell me I'm a really funny guy and fun to hang out with, so I don't think it's personality issue. So I just have no idea.

I'm looking for suggestions, critique/criticize away, I legitimately am looking for help.
