You went waayy too fast when you asked her to dance. You dont know anything about her except for when you've helped her in the library and she doesnt either.

You should have had a conversation with her to make her feel more comfortable (after all, you are a stranger), after the conversation has developed a bit, then you should have offered to buy her a drink, while observing on how comfortable she was getting around you. Only after all that should you have asked to dance.

Never buy drinks. Looks beta, unoriginal and is a bad investment.

How did you ask her to dance? Did you just walk up and ask?

Don't offer to buy her a drink, that is a situation a girl sees 20 times a night at the bar, enough to legally kill them.

Edit: If you really want you can always try again, just be polite and reasonable be yourself. I once tried to pick up a beautiful girl got rejected, then saw her again 2 months later and tried again and succeeded.

I never slept with "that girl" but it was still a worthwhile friendship and she is a great girl, one of the best I ever met. So take the angle of actually wanting to be her friend, and just be yourself.

Worst case is she rejects you again, best case is you become friends. If you aren't a seductionist, the best advice I can give you is to put yourself in the friend zone before she does it. Don't try and date her. Counter productive advice but it's your only hope.

If she's confident enough, and she decided on your very first impression that you are "fuck" material, then maybe you got a chance.

Rejection doesn't really mean anything though, you can recover. Next time just say something like "I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that, not everyone can dance, I apologize if I embarrassed you".

Anyways, I hate to be the bubble burster, you can try, but it sounds like your odds are slim.
