I need help conversing

This is a common issue and one I struggled with loads and still do a bit. The main thing is you don't want to ask questions and turn it into an interrogation. Where you from? What you doing etc.

Turn the questions into assumptions. E.g. you look French. Or you look like you've just done something naughty because you've got a bit of a cheeky grin. This gives the girl content to respond to.

The best way is to not have a script. Go in, comment on something in the environment, talk about it, take the topic to a logically absurd level. Say she says oranges are her favorite fruit, ask her if she would eat someone's face if it were an orange and then accuse her of cannibalism and if she says no then you can say "well, I guess you don't really like oranges. I guess you're insecure about oranges."

And then you can find something in that absurd bit of interaction to find something serious and then go back into normal conversation like, "I actually read something that cannibalism is destroys your nervous system" and you can have a conversation about modern medicine and then find another jump off point and go into absurdity.

This works for me. HOWEVER, learning from my mistake two days ago, build rapport first. Don't just go straight into absurdity. I came off looking like a total weirdo. This girl knows me as a very calm, fashionable, and intelligent person, so I'm hoping I can still salvage my image, but start off with rapport building first!
