If you want to have more interesting conversations, become a more interesting person.

Go out and experience things. Go skydiving, go travel, go on road trips, go rock climbing, check out a yoga class, learn to cook, try salsa, go bungee jumping, white water rafting, hiking, cliff jumping, etc.

If you have genuine interest in what they're talking about and stop freaking out, then the conversation will come naturally. Here's this beautiful girl sitting with you, and she just told you that she loves going to Paris because it's so romantic.

The idea of conversation threading is that when you pay attention to another person when the speak, the threading will just "happen". She's telling you that she loves Paris, and that the romance is what draws her love for that city. Don't bullshit the girl with that "Paris is my favorite city" line. Have you been to Paris? Can you extensively talk about Paris for 20 seconds? A minute? An HOUR? Go off of what she says, and probe a little bit. You ARE talking to the person because you want to get to know them, right?

You know, the sims was irght all along. Practicing speech infront of a mirror does work, and is pretty effective. Especially if you stil gotta work on your inner game.

Ask open ended questions to get them talking. The more they talk, the more comfortable you will feel and will want to talk. Don't ask questions that can be answered with a "Yes" or "No."

I'd wanna thread to the romantic part here, like oh yeah, what other romantic activities do you like? But it took me 5 seconds to do that, and that's 3 seconds too long at the bar. I feel your pain it's hard.
