What are you PASSIONATE about? If you can direct the conversation towards a passion you have, and have them open up and talk about one of theirs, you're golden. :)

I had this same problem a couple years back when I first got into the game. What I found worked was one of a couple things.

A)Become a much more observant person, whenever you walk into a room any room. Your friends room your office, a cafe, bar whatever look around seriously look from corner to corner top to bottom. Try to notice the craziest thing you can and bring it up to either the person who lives there if its a house or apartment. Or someone who works there. Perfect example would be like this. If you see a big trophy on the wall of a bar or pictures of a kids soccer team bring it up. Ask if the owners kid is on the team, or what the deal is with it. Either way it doesn't really matter just keep talking. Do this everywhere though not just in your sarges.

B)Head over to /r/TodayILearned and learn some cool shit, you can always bring it up.

C) Go classic with some mystery method magic tricks you can get a cheap trick for about 5bucks online

D)The most important one in my opinion start talking. Talk to everyone, your pumping gas talk to the dude pumping gas across from you. Your buying groceries talk to the old lady in the same aisle as you. Practice becoming more social. You'll find a whole hell of a lot of people loving the random conversations that come up. Just remember everyone's favorite thing to talk about is themselves so ask lots of questions, and the sweetest sound to someones ears is their name so say there name before asking a question the more the better. For example, Michelle what do you think of so and so. Michelle, how do you find living in Boston. Michelle, lets get out of here.

Find one thing to talk about. An article of clothing, something you've been thinking about, or whatever and chat about that for a couple of minutes for comfort. Then you bridge it into a more interesting topic (travel, environmental) to begin attraction.

I just came here to say that it's REALLY good that you're over AA, and that never give up because the AA will return if you do. Having said that, it's because you aren't listening. Keep asking questions until she starts talking about herself. Share a little of yourself, that will make her share a little of herself. It's reciprocal. Once she says something you know, you can start chatting about it.
