Some folks out there teach inner game saying that the outer game will follow, whilst others preach the opposite; outer game results in inner game.
A more accurate representation of the truth is a "feedback loop," either positive or negative. You can start with either inner/outer, and as you go through the loop the attitudes and behaviors become reinforced or "ratcheted" ...hence the name "ratchet technique."
The steps in a positive feedback loop that gets you the results you want are: 1. behavioral modification, which 2. has a positive effect on our environment, which allows us to 3. build a subconscious identity which 4. Leads to the attitudes and mentalities of a badass...
which in turn leads back around to reinforcing the original behavior modifications. It's a self-reinforcing cycle.
(Imagine a circle) 1. Behaviors >> 2. Results >> 3. Identity Level Change>> 4. Attitudes >> 1. Behaviors
Behavioral modification (outer game) is the easiest starting point. When you practice a "micro behavior" such as eye-contact, then see positive results, it's easier for your subconscious to accept it as "I'm the kind of person who..." which results in attitudes & mentalities of higher self-esteem and confidence... again leading to making it easier to integrate the behavior permanently.
Now you're "ratcheting" as I like to call it...
One of the biggest mistakes that guys make is they practice the "micro behaviors" ...but intermittently, haphazardly and in a disorganized fashion, as well as failing to follow through on the whole feeback loop.
This is what causes them to have such a tough learning curve, and makes internalization take MUCH longer than is necessary.
So the way to implement this:
- make a list of the behaviors (fundamentals such as eye-contact)
- practice these behaviors "having an effect on the environment" focusing on one micro-behavior at a time...
- NOTICING the positive effect it has to reinforce the identity
- use positive self-talk as in, "That's like me to have such good eye contact."
The key here is consistency. Hot women are a small percentage of the population. INSTEAD or IN ADDITION practice on co-workers, your boss, your family, your friends, clients, strangers, cashiers. The list is endless and it's much easier to practice in low-risk settings. This is how you'll get good fast.
