Mid 20s male, pretty much all of my dating success has came from Instagram. Sadly, Instagram is no longer working for me. My strategy use to be to follow 1000 women on Instagram that I know that lives in my state. Out of that 1000 maybe 250 would followback. DMing those 250 would lead to at least 5 dates. This worked all the way until 2023.

Now after 1000 follows I’m lucky to get 10 followbacks. It could be the fact that I’m now mainly focused on white women and I’m a black man. Would you DM a woman that didn’t follow you back? And would you approach a woman in real life that didn’t follow you back?

I feel like when a woman doesn’t follow you back it’s ultimately a rejection. She sees your profile and thinks you aren’t good enough.

This problem also makes me feel more hopeless when it comes to dating because I feel like I’ve basically digitally approached nearly every woman in my area. (city with maybe 250k ppl)
