Yes, I'm very new to this but please hear me out. Also, if this isn't the right place for it I'll move it elsewhere. I was out yesterday at the mall with a female friend of mine. She kept telling me that it wouldn't hurt to update my wardrobe since I'm 21 and dress like I'm 60, so I dragged her there with me. I know nothing of how to dress my age or anything so I asked her opinion here and there on stuff. Then came the light bulb moment- she looks me in the eyes, puts her hand on my shoulder and says, "honey, you've got to make your own decisions here. You can't just go off of what I say just because I'm a woman." I've heard it before but it had extra weight coming from her and it stuck. Tldr; friend gave me a very valuable piece of advice that gave me new hope and new perspective.
