Based on the context of your interactions with her, you can guess which of these possibilities her response is:

She sees you as a platonic friend, so it's okay to talk about her dating life
She's trying to make you jealous, whether she likes to play games or is following advice or some sort of rulebook is yet to be determined. She might want you to try harder or commit or show your interest
She wants to keep things totally casual and this is her way of letting you know that y'all can date other people while banging on the side

In any case I'd have said "Oooh, is she hot? Send me a picture of you two lovely ladies kissing :P" and then probably laughed at her reaction.

Edit: actually reading your post it is very obvious which of the above 3 motivated her decision to say that lol.

Pretty sure this is rule one in "how to make a guy jealous rule book" . Its your non comment / non neediness which probably caused this. just keep it up , she probably she you as a challenge , just make super causal plans like ask if she wants to join you somewhere if you are attempting a F close

Lady here.....just my opinion so ya know....take as many grains of salt as you need but, she could have been full of shit. You said you were hanging out with a friend. Maybe she took that to mean that you were hanging out with another woman and she was trying to see where you two stand with her reply of being on a date. (Is that a shit test?)

Yeah.. wasn’t a test. She was looking for an out without sounding disrespectful so you wouldn’t think less of her.

As men we like to overthink “shit tests.” To us they seem like tests. To women they are perfectly valid ways of learning about a potential partner... and they are when you thinking of how we like to bend over backwards to put out best foot forward and hide our faults. Women have just figured out a way to slice through bullshit that men haven’t fully grasped as a dating tactic.

It would be so easy to step into the "vs" frame here. I probably would have reacted so but I think keeping the "togetherness" frame is so important. "nice, don't tell me you're bored/is he mr.right" or whatever. It's like, even if you weren't sleeping together you'd still like her, being supportive
