When did it get this hard? When did being genuine, treating people right, not playing games, become something that pushes people away? I just don’t get it. It wasn’t like this 10 or 15 years ago.
And sure, social media has changed things. I’m not here to bash it, it’s just the world we live in. But it’s exhausting. I’m tired of putting myself out there, attracting someone, only for them to lose interest the moment I show that I actually care. We’ll go on multiple dates, things seem good, and then suddenly, I’m ghosted, or their responses turn minimal. It’s such a crappy feeling, one that’s hard to even put into words.
No wonder so many people are just choosing to be alone. The pain of opening up, giving someone your heart, and having them trample on it, it’s brutal. I’m just saying it like it is: getting ghosted, not just once but over and over, really wears you down. You start to feel like you’re somehow repelling the very people you want to connect with. You can be confident, look good, do everything “right,” and it’s still never enough.
So, this is probably my last post here for a long time. I’m done chasing something that doesn’t want to be chased, done looking for something that doesn’t seem to exist. If it happens, it happens. For now, I’m just going to focus on myself, on my own life and goals.
