What happens when it most likely ends? Suddenly your work life is affected because you wanted a co-worker instead of one of the thousands of women that are probably within a few miles of you. And while you might be able to remain professional after a breakup/hookup. You have no idea if she is. It's just bad risk management.

I disagree. Office dating is not hazardous at all, as long as you avoid women in your chain of command (whether up or down). I've known many a person at work who dated, some even ended up marrying a co-worker. The great thing about co-workers is you know a lot more about their backgrounds, professional and personal. Its very unlikely you will end up with a psycho as sometimes occurs with internet dating or random bar chicks.

What everyone is saying about Not Sleeping With Co-workers, is bullshit over-generalization. This is seriously one of the biggest misconceptions that just. will. not. die.
It's FINE to date and be involved with co-workers. Most people meet their SOs at work, etc. So you just don't try to plow through everyone at work; show some common sense. And screen people carefully: don't date crazy people. But if you're not a dick when you date people and you're wary of who you pick, you'll be fine.
As for anything further, it's hard to say if you should or shouldn't have done any particular thing, because you haven't made it clear at all:
What you're looking for in dating: something serious or something casual?
Whether you'd be fine being the other guy.

Well, in this context I basically just feared misreading the situation and somehow coming off as the forward one.... Which makes no sense, but that's the thing about unhealthy Anxiety
I doubt it'd be smart to do anything with these two crazies except go out in a group for wing man value, I'm looking for casual and the possibility of more
