Alright, I know my last post was a little depressing, but it's what I've been feeling and this has turned into a way of tracking my progress, so I want to be as honest as possible about what I feel and do.

That being said, went out solo intentionally for the first time ever last night. Was extremely nervous when I left the house, but discovered that reframing it as an adventure turned the nerves into excitement. I'll be using that from now on when my nerves get the better of me.

I rocked up at the first club by 10, the place was almost empty. First thing I did was find a guy to talk to so I could warm up my social muscles. We hit it off, and I did the same thing to a few other guys.

First approach was a girl a table over. She was drinking something and I was curious, so I went over and complimented her outfit, then asked what drink she was having. She was with two other friends and I had a fun little get to know you conversation with the lot of them. Unfortunately there wasn't any spark between us and I called it when it became apparent that they weren't interested.

Up next were a pair of women at a table on the other side of the club. I and one of the guys I'd befriended approached. We opened together and then pretty quickly split apart into different conversations. Once again, the conversation flowed nicely but it wasn't flirty or exciting. It was the sort of conversation you have with someone you meet on public transport to pass time. I called it after half an hour and went to grab a drink.

After that I tried my luck on the dance floor. I have two left feet however, and managed to be ignored by every woman I tried to dance with (6). Definitely something I need to practise a bit more. Results improved when I started dancing in groups and opening with the guys, who were happy to dance with and open room for me to dance with the group. Still nothing in terms of dancing with a girl, but better than nothing. I did this with three groups and it worked well as a way to get into the group, but escalation to someone I'm attracted to is still beyond me.

Off the dance floor, I tried using the same method of opening the guys in a group and transitioning to the women. It worked both times I tried it, the first time I opened one of the guys about drinking, then involved the girl I was attracted to and it went on from there. It got a little bit flirty with some touching, but it fizzled out pretty quickly.

The second time, the guy was receptive and chill with me, but the girl was not interested in the slightest.

I switched venues then since the ratios were getting real unfavorable. The next club I ended up dancing with a girl pretty closely. The vibes were good and it was pretty hot, but she left shortly after.

I did some basic openers on three different girls after, just a compliment on an item of clothing I thought was cool, an attempt at banter based on the response and then a little story about how my night had been crazy. None of them hooked, which was a bummer but I didn't take it personally or let it slow me down.

I found my wing again and tried a direct approach for the both of us and immediately got rejected again. He and I both laughed over that one and tried again. We had a little reception but mine fizzled out and started chatting to my wings girl and ended up with the both of them half ignoring us. (I apologized a lot after that one).

Finally, we ended the night in a kebab shop and found a pair of Japanese girls who were actually really receptive. We spent half an hour with them, then got their numbers and made plans to go to the beach sometime. It was 7:34am by this point.

Overall: I should be impressed by the fact that someone like me, who was a shut-in barely 8 months ago was able to go out, make friends and get rejected so many times. But, I want to get laid and while this is better then lying in bed feeling sorry for myself, it's not where I want to be. I'm going to learn this. I'm going to succeed. Eventually
