She didn't have a thing for magic, she had a thing for you. If you are super comfortable doing magic tricks for girls then just do it. Whatever gets results for you, whatever you are comfortable doing, then do it! For example, I suck at coming up with something out of the blue to talk about but I kill when I can riff off of something that happens around us. I can effectively use my surroundings to get her laughing (or anyone laughing really) so that is something that I know is a strength of mine. It didn't matter that she called you a dork, she wanted you to ask for her number anyway. That you did it in a cheesy and memorable manner is all the better. Remember that "cheesy" does not equal "bad" if she ends up giving you a positive reaction.

If you have a genuine interest in magic, then by all means you can make it work. It's because you're not really using magic to generate attraction. You're expressing who you are as a person, and that's generating attraction.

Magic in itself isn't necessarily that attractive or cool. For example, using it as a gimmick in a tryhard fashion ain't a great idea.

But if you have a genuine interest in magic and it's just an avenue of self-expression for you, then it's worth seeing how you can make it work for yourself.

Have you read "the game"? One of the main characters a PUA uses magic in place of cool stories to focus everyone in a group on him while ignoring his target girl and negging when she tries to get attention. Give it a go, I would say it would work if your good at it as its interesting and shows your a fun guy.

Magic absolutely works as a DHV...as long as you aren't being "dancing monkey." Mystery built his career on it. There was also an episode of Keys to the VIP (Canadian pickup competition) where a geeky magician smoked his competitor. Mentalism should work really well...I saw a client on Millionaire Matchmaker use it...but is is the top mentalist in the country or something.
