Idk what he said about “escalating very fast”, but there is a BIG difference between escalation and being (too) pushy. Even tho on surface level, they sound similar. My words, not James’ (don’t wanna put words in his mouth).

What you did was pushing it/too pushy. Yes I agree in general that escalation needs to be done fast. But in order to do that, keep in mind that escalation needs to be built up (imagine you climbing stairs).

So even tho it’s gotta be fast, it should be delicate. One step at a time. You can’t just jump right into sex topics or sexual innuendos after introducing yourself to a stranger, for example. Or from a handshake to kiss on the mouth within a few mins.

There’s a subtle step-by-step process in escalation. It will keep going to escalate when after one step, you receive a good feedback. But you can’t keep escalating if there’s a pushback from her. This is why steps are needed, to figure out if it’s a go or a no.

I could have said “I like to look at eyes when I talk…

If your focus is on the eyes or glasses, I would say “mind if I see your glasses, they look very good on you / they look pretty neat / i’ve never seen glasses like yours before / promise I won’t steal them”

Then when she complies, you can escalate a bit on commenting on her eyes after she took them off (“oh look at your eyes, i didn’t know you have green eyes” / “oh look at your eyes, they actually look good without your glasses”). So from what she owns (glasses) to her body (eyes); it’s escalating fast but it’s building up.

”It will be fun to pull your hair and maybe pull them a bit on a date”

Again, idk if she’s receptive enough for you to appropriately say this. I would say the only situation that you could say something like this is only after multiple escalations that you have done successfully within a short period of time, where maybe you have interlocked your fingers with hers, or you have put your hands on her waist, or you’ve wrapped your arms on her shoulders or the other way around.

You went too far .... don't touch hair-face-neck - boobs-butt. Escalating yes, but not like that... there is an order like elbow - arm - shoulder- and so on... even grabbing directly her hand is too much to start. If you do it in any other order it's too much, I don't know what James Tusk said but the order is super important.

Asking out so quickly it makes no sense... I don't think James Tusk said to do that so quickly.
