Per this post, I wanted to give back to Reddit what I have learned thus far in the game with a focus on Outer Game. Therefore, this is the first Method Monday post. This week I thought it would be important to look at how different Master PUAs have learned game and why it is important to expand your PUA influences to all trains of thought. While this isn’t exactly Outer Game I feel it is one of the most commonly asked questions by beginners and thus should be addressed.

Neil Strauss, Owen Cook, and Adam Lyons all have one thing in common; they all learned the game in very similar ways. However, they all practiced game very differently. Neil was Mystery Method, Owen runs enthusiastic natural game, but brings a HUGE focus on Inner Game, and Adam Lyons runs entourage/ abundance game with a strong understanding for situational psychology. These three men are considered to be three of the most prolific PUAs in the game, and they continue to add value to the community. How they began practicing their own brand of thought is much more interesting though.

Neil Strauss went on a journey; he seeked out Ross Jeffries - the NLP Guru, different sex therapists, Mystery, and countless other individuals who could potentially add value to his experience in learning The Game.

Owen Cook, now known as Tyler Durden – one of the co-founders of RSD, was originally known in the PUA community as a “Knowledge Junkie”, and I quote, “Tyler hit the seduction boards like a hurricane. Before anyone had even met him, one thing was clear: He was obsessed to a degree beyond what any of us had seen before. He read the posting archives—thousands of pages long—of every master PUA in the game. And he was whipping through the list of recommended books—from Introducing NLP to Mastering Your Hidden Self—at a furious rate. He was a knowledge junkie.” – The Game pg. 220.

Lastly, Adam Lyons took a very similar approach as well, listen to what he has to say in the first half of this short clip.

You wouldn’t know it now due to the way the industry has divided, but there truly is a best way to learn game. The reason that these three are considered true, Master, PUAs is the fact that they

1) Acquired as much information as possible on every single thing that could improve their game. 2) Didn't isolate themselves to one train of thought, but rather picked pieces from different PUAs and brought them into his own game. 3) They used that expansive knowledge to develop their own unique systems, thus becoming an all-star and transforming the industry.

We see all the time, “RSD is the best” , or “I follow Gambler religiously” and trust me those coaches are fantastic. Durden, Julien, and Gambler have personally taught me a ton. However, by limiting yourself to one train of thought, you are doing the complete opposite of what Owen, Julien, and Gambler did to learn game! Vigorously attack all types of seduction information, take bits and pieces of everyone’s game, and tailor them to what suits you; come up with your own conclusions. These Master PUAs didn't become incredible at what they do by only working one system. Owen wouldn't be half the PUA he is now if he only focused on Mystery Method. They went in with the goal to engulf a plethora of knowledge and develop their own ideas to use in the field. From “Simple Pick Up” to the Casanova Memoirs, to a random guy named Man Whore (he actually exists and is a pretty good, ballsy, natural), there is always more stuff that you can look up to improve your game. Copying one person isn't going to get you to the level you want to be at. Continuous Learning and experimentation is the only track to continuous improvement.

Disclaimer: You can’t just continue to learn. You have to implement/ field test the stuff you read. There is no substitute for in field-training, these are just the tools to enhance the rate of progress.
