I came to NYC to visit my sister, and I'm staying for all of the dime-a-dozen HB's. I went out tonight with my sis, hoping to meet up with a whole crew of dancers she knew. I was really psyched, and I wrote 'kino' on my thumb to remind me to work on that shit. Unfortunately, the dancers bailed, but my sis and I went to a wine bar to meet a friend of hers working there. Cute as fuck, HB9, with a Belle and Sebastian shirt on. Kino'd up, immediately, by going straight for the small of her back with my hand after an introductory hug. I forgot what the hell I said but she responded with a touch on my upper arm. Nailed it.

HB wasn't working the bar, where there were two 2-sets just waiting for me. Instead, I had to sit at a table with my sis like a dumbass, but I was fine just working HB, despite my sis's ability to relentlessly vomit small talk. Got some DHV's (vegetarian girls love vegetarian guys) in and even negged her about memorizing a dish we ordered. Also, I've got a good relationship with my sis so we can always have a good time, social proofing it up. I kept up my posture and eye contact and this HB was interested at least at a platonic level, and kept engaging me with conversation. Couldn't build much attraction through kino because I was seated and she was serving. FUCK. She dropped a knife at one point, and I should have grabbed it to get some contact in and be nice. Shared attention with objects is a path to kino, lesson learned.

Unfortunately, my sis tells me HB has seen the same guy for 7 years, and no ring, WTF? Can't blame him. Despite this, I sneak in a comment about going to MoMA, and HB seemed genuinely interested in going with me, alone. I also made the dumb mistake of telling my sis about my intentions of staying in town, and she won't let me near the girl. Should have tried #-closing as we left, she even touched my arm to tell me she is off next week. With my luck, she probably thinks I'm gay, but tonight I realized how awesome some stellar babes' personalities can be, and I can inspire a want in them to hang out with me.

Regardless, I've got a nice place to bounce to with an awesome atmosphere and a solid HB9 to work jealousy and social proof--free drinks, too. I will be back there this weekend, with HB's and without my sis, to get her number.
