More important than tactics: Practice

I agree but it isn't just about numbers. I met a guy who opened every single woman who walked passed him. But he was a creeper.

You need to know what to do. I was lying in bed last night reviewing some of my long-ago past missed opportunities. I see how if I had known the things I've learned through pick-up I'd have been better able to handle the situation.

One thing reading seddit (and other online materials and videos) has given me is the "what to do in this situation". It isn't always the exact answer but it is often a set of options. It's also given me the subtle voice: "is she into you? are you escalating?".

But back to agreement: knowing how to handle the situation is useless unless you are putting yourself into situations on a regular basis. The field will show you that the theory is nothing unless you can execute.

edit: What I mean to say is that until you get into a situation you won't know if you can actually execute the theory. You probably will get it wrong the first several attempts. Or you'll chicken out and not use the theory. Or you'll use the wrong theory at the wrong time. That is why you must practice.
