As a girl I can say that even if you aren't a ten, if you care about your body and it's evident in your diet/hygiene that's a huge plus. I know a lot of really hot guys that just don't bother brushing their teeth and eat junk food all the time, its a huge spoiler. Don't try and bulk up to impress a lady with your physique, just care about your body because you should and she will definitely notice your consideration for your health and image.

This sounds like a great idea, I was considering doing something like that just yesterday. Now I have to try it.

My inner game advice: Always remember you are a boss no matter what.

I was under the impression that all of those are inner game skills. Isn't outer game like techniques and lines that you use at the bar?
[–]squarehouse 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're right. The OP misused the term "outer game".
Other than that, I agree with the OP. Looks matter a hell of a lot, just not as much as most guys think, but more than the inner game and moar confidence gurus think.
But what matters even more than looks is social status, especially for older guys, and that's a life long process. There are a number of fundamentals that seddit has the bad habit of overlooking.

Thanks for focusing on the content rather than the terms. And yes, my point with this is to ensure that beginners are being told that this shit is very important, since most of the people coaching seem to overlook it. Exactly!

When people use the term inner game, they always refer to communication skills, self confidence, frames of mind, etc. This post is to focus on physical. In a way it's both inner and outer game as the effects can be seen in both internal and external ways. Perhaps the term "game" is not the best, but I just don't want people to think that they can "know all the tricks" so to speak and not take care of themselves (i.e. look like shit) and expect to have great success. Does that make sense?

Yea, I think we're getting at the same point here. I just have always assumed that inner game meant the things that you do before you go out and meet girls- i.e. becoming more confident, exercising and eating right, stuff like that. But yeah, I completely agree with you that you need to look as good as you can.

What you posted is external appearance, not outer game.

You can be as attractive as you want, but if you arent smooth and elegant enough, wel..you only get a slice of the cake.
I never advocated attractiveness as the only piece. I said to include it, which a lot of people don't mention.

Excellent. As I always say, its a 50/50!

So what I get from this is... Until you get a girl into a serious relationship, good looks will help kick start it. Totally legit question, is that bout right?
[–]rockwellington 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn't say you should stop once you're in a relationship. But yes, obviously by looking your best (healthy, in shape, well dressed, well groomed, etc.) you'll have much better luck. I think you should focus on these things to get you started because they also lead to positive inner game thoughts like confidence, an alpha mindset, and generally loving yourself.

This is dumb. I knew plenty of kids in high school who only focused on their outer appearance, but couldn't get a girl's number if their life depended on it. If you have shitty beliefs about who you are, and how people relate to you, you'll never have deep personal connections with another human.

I never said to ONLY focus on appearance. I believe that working on outer game can benefit your inner game as well as make it much easier for you to have success with women and that it's a very important piece of the puzzle that some people tend to ignore or forget about. Also, it's a great lifestyle decision as you'll be healthier and feel better. Sorry if you think that's dumb.
