Try this out. I invented it when I had to demonstrate to my best friend how cold approaching is done.

Have your smartphone with you. Look up "history of mathematics" on Google and click the Wikipedia entry. Stare at your phone screen. I assume at this point you are sitting in a bar stool in a crowded bar. Look to your right and talk to the person there. She has to be either alone or not focused on a conversation with another person. As in, you do not wanna bother her. She has to be relatively bored.

Say hi and show her your phone screen. Say "Hi! Wanna know what's interesting? This right here is what I consider entertainment. lol. Funny huh?"

Don't copy this word for word. You're gonna come off weird if you do. But the basic idea is, go to a girl, show her something weird about you and use that weirdness to start a conversation. It's equivalent to telling someone that you are part of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It's weird, but absolutely within the realm of being socially acceptable.

Try it. Modify it to suit your purposes. At worst, she'd give a polite smile.
