Hey,

Need some advice from some of the more experienced guys on the forum. I have a few questions I’m hoping some of you could shed light on.

I have approached hundreds of girls at this point and gotten quite a few of them out. However, I am recently traveling in a new city but for some reason my success rate has declined dramatically and most approaches end up as flakes after getting their numbers. In the past, I have had hot girls come up to me, had a fairly high conversion rate from cold approach to dates and can almost always close once I end up getting a date but this experience made me realize maybe my interaction during cold approaches still has a long way to go. I tend to open directly (telling them they’re cute etc), have some banter, a bit flirting here and there without any touching (esp covid) and it has worked well in the past. I am now reading more about escalation and realizing that perhaps I am missing this part in my approaches. However, here is where my questions come in.

  • I know there’s verbal and physical escalation but it seems like escalating through subcommunication (ie gazing, moving closer etc) creates the most tension. But, how would I be able to escalate this way when I already open directly and have told them right off the bat they were attractive?
  • what has your experience been with regards to physical touch during the pandemic? Should I completely stay away from physical contact or still try and initiate it and stop if the girl shows discomfort etc
  • lastly, why do you think I am having a high number of flakes recently, despite having imo pretty good convos, decent body language and rapport, and supposedly I am way more relaxed and experienced now with hundreds of approaches under my belt as opposed to having a higher success rate when I was in my first few approaches ever
