So basically I'll start with a little backstory. I was a kid who grew really fast and didn't catch up to my weight during high school and never really had the self confidence to approach women at all. So with that in mind I went to the gym on a constant basis (and still do) and have achieve a body type which I am satisfied in. However, no matter how fit I am I still have that same mindset that I will never attract girls and that it's all just a waste of time and I'm feeling extremely down about it.

The first girl I really broke the barrier with was a girl I met in college. We hit it off like crazy and I never really felt a connection like I had with her. She was showing attraction and she was someone I would deem way out of my league (5 years older and model attractive). I thought I had this one in the bag. Nope.

That same mindset stuck with me, and I let it slip away by not putting my foot forward and always believing I could never attract anyone, and she eventually found someone else and being the insecure guy I am I flipped out and we don't speak to this day.

So I meet another girl who I get along with very well but has a boyfriend. Oh well not really going to stop me, so we get along great and things kick off great. She even goes to the extreme of expressing her feelings for me when she is dating this guy. What do I do? Not put my foot forward. She is still dating him and we are "best" friends to this day. Half of me likes to think she is my friend but the other realizes I don't just want it. To this day she says that she was confused when she told me that and she doesn't like me that way.

That really has fucked my confidence, so I try to meet new women, and just get over the oneitis and I hooked up with a few girls that I had no interest in and I was feeling even worse about my confidence in the end.

So as I become used to this feeling I think in my head I need change NOW. So recently I met this girl in my class and we get along great, could be interested in me but I don't know so I should put my foot forward. And today was the day I was just going to ask for her number and ask her out, and the opportunity presented itself...... And I didn't do it.

So basically I feel like I'm in a cycle of just being insecure and feeling not worthy. I don't see myself as unattractive and I am told that I'm not by any means and my friends can't understand why I'm the only guy they know who hasn't had a girlfriend.

I make excuses like I don't feel like its necessary to go for these women or that the time didn't present itself. These are all excuses and I know this and yet I cannot move forward at all. I know it sounds melodramatic, but its something I can't seem to get off my chest.

I really just need some inspiration, personal experiences, or just tips on how to better myself. I know the answer is to just do it but it's WAY easier said than done and I'm just burying myself a hole here and why not talk to the guys who know best. Thanks, it is really much appreciated!
