So I met a girl at a bar on a Saturday and we hit it off really well. She was obviously very in to me and I felt pretty good about my game that night. She number closed me when I had to bounce about 20 minutes into the interaction. My first mistake was not contacting her until Thursday. I realize this, but whatever. I texted her: "hey X, it's throwaway8341! Sorry for leaving early the other night, I hope you weren't too bored without me ;) What are you doing tomorrow?"

I didn't hear back from her and figured I'd waited too long, but then at 10 PM she texts back saying (paraphrasing): "sorry, still at work. I'm working tomorrow and have a previous engagement at night. What are you up to?"

me: "I was planning on going out with this girl I met last weekend but she's got some other engagement or something lame like that, so I'll have to make other plans ;)"

her: "haha, you're cute. What are you doing Saturday?"

At this point I thought "great, I'm in" and that I had managed to respark the interest that she had the night we met. I told her that we'll hang out during the day on Saturday and that I'd let her know the details. I also teased her a bit about being at work so late. Also, not sure if it's important, but I asked her what part of town she lives in (for planning purposes) and she had no problem giving me the address.

On Saturday morning I texted her to let her know that it was still on and what time I'd come get her, and she replies back that her friend just came to town. I shrug it off and reply "Popular girl. So I should make other plans then?"

her: "I'm going out later, but I can't hang out during the day because she's here"

I'm not sure what this means exactly, but I don't think it's an invitation. Either way I have no interest in going out with her and her friends. So I teased her a bit about how her day wasn't going to be as fun as if she were hanging out with me and that we'd go out for drinks after work some time this week assuming she doesn't work until midnight everyday. She answered back "haha yeah I'll let you know"

At this point I'm not really expecting to hear back from her. I know some would have advocated that I try to set a concrete time up again but that seemed a little desperate to me.

Any thoughts on why this went wrong? Any advice for the future?
