I was like that when I was in my 20's, now I'm in my 40's and looking back I overcame that by concentrating on my own life, my career and getting the confidence I was lacking so much. Do things that make you happy, take up hobbies, travel! and travel alone! this is a huge confidence builder. Talk to strangers, learn how to be fun and open to people, observe how people start to gravitate towards you as you build up what we call charm and charisma.
This is not a short term solution, not even an easy one, but it works if you really go through this process.

I'm in my 20's (25) and that's the scary part. Isn't this the age to have moments with girls and live the life. Won't lie, read everywhere to "pursue hobbies, travel, work on career" but shouldn't there be a fair amount of all aspects of life - health, love, work, friends and family at all times??
I really appreciate your response still. Wanted to say some things out here where like minded people read it.

Don't worry too much about the moments and age. Young girls will want to be with you well into your 30's still. Start building your shit. That includes doing daygame. Even if your life is shit now, if you do daygame and get good at it, you'll still get laid or find a partner. Whatever you're looking for. Start now though. Contrary to popular advice on this subreddit. You dont NEED to spend years building yourself first. You can still get laid, but you have to go out and talk to women.

Alongside building your social skills, I would recommend heavy focus on inner work. These emotions and reactions towards girls are pointing to some inner issues. Hopefully you can use this pain to motivate you to get better. Read some self-improvement books and find what resonates with you and your situation. Let me tell you, this isn't permanent and you can get great with women, even if you feel like you can't right now. Just start moving in that direction bud. I believe in you.

I think just that. There is something else beneath all these emotional wants. Wish I could figure it out soon enough. Thank you for your kind words. Have a great day :)

Np! You probably have childhood trauma (where your feelings of inadequacy and habit of comparing to others originate) and negative thought loops and negative emotional coping mechanisms that perpetuate past emotional trauma over and over again. When a pretty girl talks to you, it likely medicates your pain temporarily because for a second your brain thinks, 'I might actually not be the shit person I think I am!'. This reinforces an unhealthy, extreme reliance on girls for self-esteem. You could try delving into your childhood and identifying experiences that resulted in traumatic negative emotions you've carried with you to adulthood.
Yeah, I did have a shitty childhood. Elder brother used to bully me up until I was in mid teens. Made me feel worthless. I guess it has to be that.

Make yourself great, so great people (and great women) will want to be around you.
Don't worry what the society thinks "is the age to have moments with girls". Worry about what you feel. Approaching women requires self-confidence, and that is built on you believing in your own value, based on what you are, what you do, what you work towards, what you achieve, what you represent as a person.
Girls rarely get excited with the fact that you want them. They're very used to that, it's super common to be desired. What they want is to be desired by someone who is cool, fun to be around, and who in some way "creates social value", be it storytelling, playing guitar, good jokes, anything that makes people feel good.
If you can make them feel good, everything else will follow.

This makes so much sense. I guess I will have to give priority to my health, work and mental well being as well. Become really good at something, make a name for myself. I'm also struggling not to be a people pleaser anymore.

Yeah, you may want to check "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover, it's a good book about getting rid of the nice guy syndrome and stop pleasing everyone around you in hopes that it will somehow magically help you get what you want (protip: it doesn't).

Heard about that book. Will check out it soon. Right now, I'm reading "Models" by Mark Manson. It has great tips not just about approaching women but to invest in self first.

I disagree with the other posts here. I'm 28 and have similar issues but I'm focused on improving it. It's not just about confidence and having something worthwhile that you're doing with yourself. It's also about undoing habits and conditioning that you have which prevents you from talking to them. Don't wait! I say do whatever it takes for you to start talking to girls. Take some pressure off by not being hard on yourself if you don't actually game them or you are super awkward or weird. Just make it a goal to regularly say hello and have a short back and forth, just getting yourself in front of them to begin with. You want to break your habit but the most reliable way you're going to do that is by converting your habits in small steps. So starting with saying hi or making random comments to girls as a habit. Once that's a habit, step up to having short conversations that don't necessarily go anywhere. Then step up to showing some sort of intent/attraction in those conversations. Etc. But try to fully internalize it and make it second nature at each step of the way, that is how you will actually solve the problem instead of just temporarily pushing ALL THE WAY through your lack of action and anxiety until you get some results, then get complacent with them. You want the change to be permanent.
Yeah, I did initiate the habit of having small talk with girls I like. It went on a while and then I noticed it isn't progressing. Maybe some unconscious mistake which I make.

You have to make an effort to progress it yeah. Why didn't you ask any of them out?
Due to the (silly or is it) belief that I'm not good enough for them and that there are better guys around for them to choose.

I feel you, hard to give advice for that, other than trying to remember that it's based on your own assumptions, not on actual facts. You don't know what's in their life, what they're looking for, or how much you fit or don't fit into that without asking, attempting. Assuming they wouldn't be interested in you for reasons like that is literally just that, an assumption.
