I don't know what you mean by older but I'm 37 and still killing it. It will help you to get fit and new exercise habits will also help to take your mind off the ltr separation.

Other than that the best thing you can do is just jump in bro. Start approaching.

When guys get out of ltrs they often feel on the "outside" of the whole social scene. In old school pickup there was a concept called "me and them" vs "us". There can be lingering feelings you have that you're not part of "the group", or "the scene" or whatever you want to call it when you're out socializing. And when you try to talk to girls when you have those feelings, they come through in your attitude/voice tone/body language and it fucks you up.

But when you just start assuming you're "part of the group", like everyone is your friend and they've already accepted you, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So start viewing yourself as "part of it". Part of the cool kids, part of the fun, part of the main thing that's going on.

Younger women do like older guys. But they have less tolerance for older guys who are out of shape than they do younger guys who are out of shape. I'd recommend keto + fasting + 10k steps daily. I let myself get to around 35lbs overweight and lost most of it that way.

You need to get back on track and to do so you need to rewire your brain. Start complimenting ALL of the women you met no matter if she is ugly or beautiful. Second walk the new roads, select always new ways, new restaurants, new grocery stores. Change or reposition the furniture in your house. Some advanced neuroscience behind that. After a month of doing that come back here and ask again. Currently you need to build a base.
