So I think I might've got a bad case of oneitis. Well, maybe not a bad case, but a case nonetheless.

First real love of my life, took her virginity, we grew very close over the course of a year and spent a long time on-and-off dating. Usually on, but often fighting. Eventually I said it was enough and even then we got back together, but broke up again because she found out I fucked someone else while we weren't dating.

All that's irrelevant though. Well, maybe it is, I don't know. My point is oneitis. I haven't seen a good thread on here about it. I've cut her out of my life, at least for the time being. We can't be friends at this point.

My problem is I cut her out of my life over a month ago, but I still miss her. I think about her every day. I go out to bars and clubs sometimes, and things might be going well, but I feel no desire anymore. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but still. I'd like to have my desire back. I just don't feel anything for anyone else. When we were together the last time, I decided she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. A mistake. And I can't seem to move on from it.

I guess I'm just asking for general advice about being attached to someone, moving past them, and moving on. There hasn't been a thread on here about it, and I'd like to hear Seddit's advice. I'd prefer more general advice than specific; I gave y'all my story, but just as an example. I'd rather have discussion than just plain advice. How do I move on from being so in love with someone that I don't want anybody else?
