really doesnt matter my friend, well this in itself is a half truth. Because if you said "oh I do love me the taste of a medium rare llama anus" then of course you are gonna get the "wtf?" response and quite possibly on the more extreme side if you aren't comfortable to begin with. (quite possibly is an understatement its more than very likely that you would get a negative response, well actually I don't know, somebody test this shit!)

But in essence, saying "Hi" is enough to open, provided you transition into a full blown conversation. I believe the so called formuala is approach=open then calibrate in that order. Cold reading is good, but questions are absolutely okay too. I feel as though the community puts so much emphasis on method that they forget the rest simply falls on your personality and confidence.

Very similar to eye contact, it's been seen as the "if you haven't got it, you aint getting shit" it helps, and is really powerful when applied, but it isn't going to get you the hook on its own.

Simply put, Make an observation, that's your stimulus and whatever pops in your mind, you should basically vocalise it. it's what personalises the situation and comes across as more genuine.

Cold approaches are about cold reading. You observe something and then you talk about it.
