I'm my personal experience having that kind of attitude doesn't help! Drinking alot doesn't actually make you cooler and people often use their altered state as an excuse to act in ways they wouldn't normally. (Ie hitting on women of you don't normally, being goofy if you aren't usually)

Read this subredit more and work on other people thinking that your awkward. It doesnt matter what you do, it matters what people's perception of your actions is in this context.

You talk to people, great! What do you talk about? How do they react to it? Do they smile and laugh in a genuine way? A good way to build this connection with people is to talk about WHAT THEY WANT TO TALK ABOUT. Ask questions, show interest in something they care about. Get them talking and investing their time in you, not you talking at them and realize that everyone wants to be listened to. Watch reactions.

Also, don't JUST hit on women at parties. Ideally you want to just be friendly to everyone. Someone that everyone has met and thinks is nice. Realistically if a girl is considering sleeping with you she's going to mention you to other people to get their opinions. If people tell her your weird and awkward its not going to help.

Picking up girls drunk at parties was never something I was good at. Its fine, I can live with it. I just go out and get drunk, have fun, turn in around 2 and sleep it off. And really, drunk sex is rarely ever good and not something us men are truly equipped for. I mean... She's probably not going to come back for more after the mediocrity of your drunken numb thrustings.

I'd say just go have fun and be social. If it comes... then it comes but don't consider your night a failure when you have an awesome time and go home alone.

Drinking games. Be playfully competitive with girls, I usually say "hey x we're going shot for shot" or if we're playing pong you're gonna want to sneak kino in as she makes shots. Hype her up. Maybe do some body shots. You can also use alcohol as a way to isolate. For instance if you brought some expensive liquor and only want to share with her. This is assuming that you have already introduced yourself and established a bit of a rapport, but hey I'm no PUA

A friend of mine cleans house at parties with stuff he learned from mystery method and Tyler durden. Magic tricks, palm readings, and other entertaining tricks like that not only make you seem interesting but can also open the door to kino. He uses it to open a lot.

Dancing is always a safe bet too.

I freestyle a lot at parties which often gets good response. Depending how drunk I am either the man after I finish spitting or a fool.

Maybe your trying too hard. There's nothing worse then forced coversations or interview mode. I started to talk and joke to people as i would with close friends, I be myself. Its way less akward and just more relaxing. If there's nothing to say, I don't say anything. I don't even feel akward about it.

I'm not into pua stuff tbh, it was never natural to me and i found it kinda sucky in the sence the night was never fun. I go out to have fun, i don't try hard. If i want to drink heavy, i drink heavy, if i want to dance, i dance, if i want to chat to a nice looking female, i chat to a nice looking female. If it's going well, I go with my gut, what does my gut say? Grab her by the hip or elbow and take her for a dance. I'll shoot, maybe I'll miss, but it was my night and nobody is going to take it away from me, if I pull, then thats just the cherry on top ;).

If you're trying to interact with girls at huge ass parties I suggest getting good at your typical drinking games. If you invite a girl to play beer pong they seldom ever turn you down. This is a great opportunity to get one on one time with a girl and make an impression.

Talk to literally everyone and just be super fucking social. After you make friends with 30 guys you didn't know, talking to girls will flow incredibly smoothly.

It helps me if i don't drink or drink very little. It might help you, try it out.

Go early. Get the lay of the land and be seen having fun and talking to women as others arrive. This gives you social proof/preselection the moment THEY walk in the door.
Bring something fun so people remember you in a positive light. You don't have to be that guy who brings his guitar, but it does matter. Setting up beer pong, bringing a Frisbee if it were an outdoor party, stuff like that.
Have a few drinks, but do. not. get. wasted.
