Dude I have aspergers and dyspraxia so I'm more weird than you'll ever be. I will share my experience with you, might be your thing, might not. The way I normalized my social skills was getting a part time door security job in a bank at 18. My job was literally watching people. Being retarded, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to OBSERVE human behaviour. You and I already know what is considered normal human interaction, but due to you possibly landing somewhere on the autism spectrum we cant help but be socially awkward... but anyway, OBSERVE OBSERVE OBSERVE until you know how to act more normal. Observing is very creepy and sounds counter intuitive to the objective but how else will you learn? You could read all day long but nothing beats practical appliance.

And list what you think you're doing that is weird. We can help you more if you explain more.

Hey Man. What do you do to weird people out? Can you give an example? Is it that you just say nothing? Or is it that you say something they interpret as weird?

Toastmasters could be a good formal location.

Try joining social groups from the Internet - meetup.com or reddit meetups or whatever. Lots of other people trying to make friends, and it's low stakes 'cause it's not your regular place.

Can you find a wingman from here to hang out with who might give you some in person hints?

And am I autistic?

Definitely not strongly autistic. Other than that - does it matter either way? You've decided to work on your social skills either way.
