Models by Mark Mansons is really about how non neediness and confidence is the same thing and this is what attracts women.

It's detaching yourself from the outcome.

You do hobbies not for external validation but for yourself.

You lift weights because you enjoy getting stronger. You learn guitar because you love music. You read books due to curisoity. Not because it'll impress others.

If nobody ever compimented you, would you still do it?

You build value. Confidence is through evidence.

Women can't be your source of emotional excitement. You've got to build a social life outside of dating.

When you're talking to someone don't think about the outcome. Always think "Do I like her" not "I need to impress her."

Mark Mansons' point is that the problem isn't a lack of dating experience. It's letting that face become your dientity.

You need to build a life where your sense of self worth comes from multiple sources and not just her or women.

Dating and women should be an addition to an already good life. Having a good life attracts the women but you're not reliant on them.

What? Basically, he’s saying that you’re allowing women to dictate your value on a whim which makes you eager for their approval because if they reject you, you’ll see that as proof that you suck (the book teaches you how wrong this is).

Usually guys like that will act like good-boys for women or they’ll throw on this “bad-boy” persona but it’s all a facade. They basically do dog-tricks in order for women’s approval and get it slaughters their image of themselves if they get rejected. They might go out and buy fake gold chains and dress like a douchebag. This isn’t because they ARE that, but because they do it because “the hoes like it bro”.

The book teaches you that women like guys who aren’t needy for validation. When those guys approach women, they are fearless of them because they’re not chasing women for validation so rejection doesn’t hurt nearly as bad.

It’s a fantastic book, I highly recommend “No More Mr Nice Guy” by Robert Glover as well.

The summary of Models is simple: just approach girls until you find one who likes you exactly as you are. At first, I thought the author was joking, but no... that is literally his method.

It's not that complicated. Just start by being aware of what is triggering your emotional investment. Why you invest in a woman. And get some control over your own investment by becoming conscious about it.

Just by thinking about it, and being aware of it - you are already 90% of the way there. It's not like you have to do something special. Just begin being aware of when and how you invest in women, and for what reason. And notice if you're over-investing, under-investing, or investing appropriate amount of emotions. That comes with experience and paying attention.
