Men,

Men are problem solvers. We listen and we are thinking of solutions for the problem. So, when we are listening to people talk, we often start giving advice in the conversation. What to do, what should be done and all that, instead of relating and just listening.

The problem is this ruins the interaction. The person is not asking for advice. Unless someone asks for advice, do not give advice. Focus on being there for the person. Listening to them and relating. Sharing a similar situation you were in or just having fun.

Advice giving ruins the conversation. Do not give advice unless someone asks for it. Focus on making the conversation fun, making yourself have fun with the person you're talking to and enjoying the overall vibe. I was terrible at this, especially with family members. I used to give advice to my brother without him asking. Like, i think this is even worse with guys since their ego gets in the way. So, if you want to give advice, ask them. Be like, you want my take on this?

I made a 15 second video about this.
